2024 marks our 18th gathering of droid builders. We had a surprise appearance by Dave Everett, the Australian founder of the R2 Builders Club. Three of the child actors from the upcoming Disney+ TV show Skeleton Crew came to reunite and have fun with droids. Temps were in the upper 80s and very humid. We set up the giant sunshade and lots of EZ ups to provide shade. Head count: 127.
New this year was a droid parade for our amazing neighbors, who have never once complained about our crowds and craziness. So many of them came out to watch and take photos. It was nice to be able to share some of the fun and entertainment with them. Droid builders are always happy to show off their builds and spread joy. Such an amazing group of talented and creative people!
